The Wheel of the Year - Samhain - Ritual Mystery Box

By Stitch Together

$ 46.00

Samhain pronounced "SOW-en" celebrates the end of the year and honors our ancestors. The ancient Gaelic holiday marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of a new year. Modern celebrations remember and honor ancestors, leaving offerings for our loved ones that have crossed the veil as well as taking time for goal setting, reflection and renewal. It is a time to say farewell to summer and welcome in the darkness that comes with the longer fall and winter nights.

I've found as I get older the quicker time flies and for the longest time I felt as I was grasping at threads of it flying through my fingers faster than I could catch them. Slowing down to celebrate the passing of the seasons and certain important times of the year are the best way I've found to center myself and to get a firm hold on where we're at within the wheel of the year.

The Wheel of the Year represents the eight Sabbats or festivals that have been celebrated by pagans for many, many generations and were often the precursors to modern holidays. Celebrating the passage of the year in this deliberate way allows us to reconnect with nature and ourselves in this modern world of chaos and the never-ending demands on our attention.
